Tax return deadline 31st January

19-Nov-2014 The busiest time of year is looming for accountants and the team at Jan McDermott & Co want to help you avoid any penalties you face in submitting late tax returns or payment of tax.
31st January is the deadline for submitting your personal tax return AND paying any tax owed.

Rachel Wood, Director and Start-Up Specialist says: “HMRC issue penalties for all late returns, including those that have no tax to pay. So please make sure, if you are expected to submit a tax return that you do so, whether you owe tax or not.

"We also remind you that HMRC have a few particular campaigns that they are targeting (which we have previously reported) such as let property, second incomes and credit card sales.

"We will do everything we can to help but the responsibility is on you to ensure you have allowed enough time for your return to be prepared, and that ALL income or gains have been included.”
