ICAEW Fellowship for director Rachel Wood

Jan McDermott and Co is delighted to announce that director Rachel Wood has achieved her Fellowship of the ICAEW.

ICAEW, is a world leading professional membership organisation that promotes, develops and supports over 144,000 chartered accountants worldwide. They provide qualifications and professional development, share knowledge, insight and technical expertise, and protect the quality and integrity of the accountancy and finance profession.

Fellowship is intended to designate those who have achieved a higher level of professional experience. It is awarded to members who have attained at least ten years of membership and who have complied with the Institute's requirements on continuing professional development in the preceding three years.

Rachel studied to be a chartered accountant while working at McEwan Wallace and joined Jan McDermott & Co Chartered Accountants in 2005, becoming a co-director in 2010.

Rachel has a particular interest in new businesses and helps start-ups to plan for their growth. She guides them through the financial considerations and removes the burden of financial compliance from them.

Paul Ford, Director of Paul Ford Engineering Ltd says ‘I’ve worked with Rachel since starting my business in 2005. She advised me about the best way to structure my company for tax purposes to enable me to maximise my income. She is very good at telling me about the best way of recording my finances and is always happy to come and see me when I have new challenges to overcome.’

Managing Director Jan McDermott added ‘Rachel is an integral member of the team and a highly valued colleague – not just for her work with our small business portfolio of clients but also with managing the team and the day to day operations. I’m delighted that she has received her fellowship and congratulate her commitment to ICAEW and our firm’.

Congratulations to Rachel Wood FCA!
