Qualifications – AAT, ACA Chartered Accountant

What’s your role within the company?

I’m responsible for operations, delegating work out and overseeing the team, so they all know what they’re doing. I also like to take a hands on approach, completing tax returns for most of our clients.

Client relations plays a big part in my role – I work closely with Jan to ensure we are meeting client expectations.

What do you like most about working for Jan McDermott & Co?

They are a really nice team, easy to work with, hard working. All our clients are lovely, and are always a pleasure to visit and talk to. We have worked hard to develop strong relationships with our clients, meaning they can talk to us about virtually anything, which means we can offer them the best advice, as we are all being honest with each other.

It’s a nice feeling to watch a client you have worked with for a number of years, grow and do well, and know you have been part of their journey.

What’s beyond the 9 to 5?

Taking trips to the beach with my daughter Keira, spending time with family and friends, caring for my daughters cat ‘Tiger’.

We take trips abroad a few times per year – we’re off to Tenerife in a few hours!

What’s your favourite movie?

Dirty Dancing.

What is your proudest moment?

Having my daughter Keira.

What is your biggest adrenaline rush?

Parasailing in Gran Canaria.

If you could be granted one wish, what would it be?

Put an end to world poverty.
